According to a report in the Sunday Times, Eskom only has enough cash for the next three months.
The State owned company still wants bonuses to be paid to axed CEO Brian Molefe, suspended acting chief executive Matshela Koko and others, despite low cashflow.
The Sunday Times says it has access to the financial statements of the state owned company. The Sunday Times claim unless Eskom is given a bailout, it will be unable to pay salaries come November.
Despite that, bonuses of R5.5 million have been proposed. Molefe, who was originally going to be given a R30 million bonus, he will now receive R2.1 million. Koko, currently suspended after allegedly failing to disclose a conflict of interest, will get an R1.5 million bonus, and theres Anoj Singh, who will get a R1.9 million bonus.
