Bonang Matheba escapes tax fraud charges, pays R30,000 fine

TV personality Bonang Matheba on Tuesday had her tax fraud case struck off the roll after she paid an admission of guilt fine of R30,000.

Bonang was facing tax evasion charges after failing to pay personal tax from 2008 – 2017 and company tax from 2014 – 2017.

According to the charge sheet seen by TshisaLIVE, Bonang paid the amount of R30,000 at the court on Monday as part of her admission of guilt.

Of the R30,000 paid, R22,000 was for personal taxes not filed and R8,000 for company taxes, listed under Bonang Matheba Entertainment (Pty) Ltd.

Bonang’s manager, Davin Phillips, who spoke to TshisaLIVE on her behalf said B was happy with the outcome.

“She is feeling good and is happy that the matter has been resolved and we can move forward. There seems to have been a miscommunication and things have been compiled and now we can move forward.”
