The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it has laid a complaint with Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to investigate the relationship between President Cyril Ramaphosa and controversial company Bosasa.
The company, which is now called African Global Operations is now distancing itself from the R500,000 donation which the company paid towards Ramaphosa’s ANC presidential campaign.
In its request for an investigation, the DA is requesting Mkhwebane to probe if the president deliberately misled Parliament when he said he knew about the donation.
The DA’s Mmusi Maimane labeled the payment as a bribe in return for future tenders and wants the public protector to probe the matter.
The controversial company continues to distance itself from the infamous donation, shifting the blame on CEO Gavin Watson.
