Duduzane Zuma says he’s selling his shares in Gupta media firms and will be donating the proceeds to a development programme aimed at creating jobs for the youth.
In August, Zuma’s son said during an interview with BBC he said had no regrets about his relationship with the family.
Duduzane said he would not change his decision to partner up with the Guptas.
In his latest statement, he says the process of selling his shares in Oakbay is underway.
Duduzane says he’s decided the proceeds will go to a new youth development programme focused on creating sustainable jobs.
The statement goes on to say the new programme will have a specific interest in graduates and will be open to all young people regardless of gender or background.
Duduzane says young people need to be given a chance to succeed and this requires sacrifices from everyone in authority or with privilege.
