Former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng says he will be launching a bid for the presidency of South Africa ahead of the 2019 elections.
Motsoeneng was in court to argue why he should be paid his full pension from the company, despite leaving them in a dire position.
Motsoneng announces he will stand for office in 2019
Outside the courtroom is where Hlaudi Motsoneng made the shock announcement.
It seemed that Hlaudi felt the time was right to announce he will be running for president next year:
“South Africa needs Hlaudi for change. I’m the only person who made decisions in the interest of empowerment. For the first time in South Africa, all political parties colluded to remove Hlaudi.”
“My only ‘corruption’ was to implement change. I’m going to run and lead South Africa as president. Don’t listen to politicians: The only person you should listen to – and the only person who will deliver – is Hlaudi.”
Motsoeneng didn’t give any details on which party he was going to run for, however there is every chance he will stand as an independent candidate.
