The ‘Nasrec 68’ will on Friday meet with ANC bosses at Luthuli House to attempt to find a political solution to the votes dispute.
The omission of ballots could have a material effect on the position of secretary-general which is currently held by Ace Magashule after just beating Senzo Mchunu by a narrow 24 votes.
The matter was dealt with by the steering committee, but the delegates, mostly from KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo, threatened to take the issue to court if the votes were not added.
Senior ANC members are expected to meet with the disgruntled members to prevent the matter from landing in court.
The delegates from Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal are demanding that all their votes be added to the final top six tally, which could see Magashule ousted as secretary-general.
Their lawyer Dexter Selepe says the meeting on Friday will determine what happens next.
“On the legal omission, we have stated that we are ready to do whatever we need to.”
